Post Glenn Poorman live at Interlochen - The Secret Beach
New on the Stick players channel on YouTube:

Here's a nice new loop-based piece by Glenn, starting out first on Alto Stick, then switching to Grand Stick. This was from the 2011 Interlochen Stick Workshop concert. Thanks to Steve Balough and Tim Longfellow for sending me the video.

happy viewing!

I really love the clarity of Glenn's sound, crystalline but not brittle...

Beautiful piece. I like how the Alto loops both blend with and stay out of the way of the Grand Stick parts.

Glenn,

Absolutely wonderful piece and what an honor for you to be a guest soloist at the beautiful outdoor amphitheater by the lake at Interlochen, a place near and dear to the growth of your musical soul.

You always push the envelope and your looped pieces evolve with the arrangements developing right before our eyes ( and ears). From "the Manifest" to "the Frantic Nature of your Call" your writing always intrigues and pleases. This time you raised the bar by switching from the Alto to your Grand, and gave me a "whoa" moment"! I agree with Claire the two are seamless and blend perfectly.

My thanks to Steve and my good friend Tim Longfellow ( a great Stickist in his own right who performed at our Stick Night/ Seminar here in Pittsburgh where Greg, Tom G and I taught)
for filming your performance and sharing it with us.

Kudos and congrats,
Dave Brosky

Thanks for bumping this.....fantastic approach to looping and what a composition! I could literally see myself sitting in a theatre with the credits rolling and Glenn's tune playing as the outro music. Someone really needs to put some kind of video montage to this piece.
