Post Power of Two
Power of Two by the Indigo Girls is song of the week for week #20. Swamp Ophelia is a fantastic album and the Indigo Girls, bless their hearts, are definitely doing their part to keep excellent folk songwriting alive.

This melody / chord combination is one of my most ambitious to date and has taken quite a while to warm up to. On a side note, In preparing for our hardwood installation, I pulled up the carpet in our living room, so the sound of the room is much more ambient.

As always, thanks for any suggestions or feedback, I really appreciate it! :D

Duuuuuuuuude.

That was .... everything everything..!! You always have such command over the Stick that it's easy to listen to you.

I loved it at 2:50 when you're putting together some minor second somethings between the melody and bass side.

On first listen I had the feeling that you may not have been letting the melody breathe, dynamically etc, but on second listen I can hear that you have a very dynamic sense of dynamics, if you like. Poor english, but sounds fun anyway. You play that song with a lot of hope and intensity, beautiful bro Gene.

Thanks Panther and Thank YOU Radkon, I really appreciate it. I have been working on this one for so long, it's really nice to get a kind word.

Best wishes to you both!

Really nice, Gene, lyrical and with great timing.

Happy to see all that fluid position-shifting in the right hand. You could try to use the 2nd finger for setting up some of those repeated notes in the 1st finger (like at 2:51), which would make everything a little more fluid still.

My only "worry" for you has to do with you angle in relation to the left hand, If you can position yourself so that you have less of an angle in your left wrist it would be beneficial for your long-term playing health.

It feels to me like you're focusing on keeping the instrument "in view", which is understandable, but if you can rotate the bass side a little closer to you, it will open up your left wrist a bit. You can do this by shifting your body a little more behind the instrument, or by turning it counterclockwise in relation to your body.

The less you rely on looking to find your way with the left hand the better, in any case.

Thanks for posting.
