Post Jason Sturges videos - cool stuff
I've always thought Jason was one of the most original Stick players around since I found out about him a few years ago, he recently put up a few videos of his tunes, definitely worth checking out:

Thanks Rob. I have been listening to the MP3's from his site all week.

I have liked Jason Sturges for a long time especially early on 2002 -2003. His spare use of the melody side really intrigued me much more so than Tony Levin who also relies so much on the left hand and lowers the neck guitar like. But I discovered that I had a better right hand
even though I had played guitar for years. It is obvious (to me anyway) that the melody in his
( Jason's) tunes are are all in the left with the right hand adding ornamentation. This is a very cool stylized approach that reminds me a lot of Steve Tibbetts. http://stevetibbetts.com/

Nice aggressive yet melodic approach. Cool.

Thanks

I went to HS with Steve Tibbetts. I've always been jealous of his hair, er I mean his musical success. :) He's cool.

Yeah, I liked him for a while, but then I forgot him.

He is a sick player tho, I remember he had some unique approaches and liked to stay on the bass side a lot. Hails to Mr. Sturges. Thanks for the reminder about this guy.

Sturges gave me a really cool compliment years ago... I still remember the words, "Oh my God, the bass sound. Wicked." I'll never forget that.

Very cool videos. I really like Jason.
