I haven't talked a lot about this because it's been a difficult thing for me to process.

This short video is dedicated to the memory of Greg Howard, my friend, mentor and Stick brother. It’s "Autumn Leaves", a jazz standard that I saw Greg perform magically years back in LA.

I honestly haven't reconciled the loss of three men in my life - my Father, Emmett and Greg. These men were my heroes.

In losing my heroes I wanted to honor them by adopting some of the traits that I found admirable in each of them, and In doing so, I now carry a small part of a torch they lit and carried during their time here.

Honestly , I don’t feel anywhere near worthy enough to accept that role. I am such a flawed human being but because I love these men and what they represented I have to try.

That being said, this video goes out to Dad, Emmet, Greg and anyone that any of you have lost that made a difference in your life.

Let’s keep their spirits alive in us.

So good to hear you play. I can relate with the loss of Greg especially as I wasn't able to make the service online. I've been thinking of Greg a fair bit.... Seems you got the big three all in a row, that's rough.

Your video is reminding me of that great energy left behind by our masters, friends and associates. It's giving me a good boost as I practice today.
