Post iPhone Ditty - March 28, 2023
I often forget to share videos here.

A couple of years ago I inadvertently started a personal discipline called "iPhone Ditties". They are basically just that: no frills iPhone video. No fancy audio. Little prep or thought. Often in one take, and rarely more than two takes. Warts and all. Just hit record and put it out there, etc. The act of "doing" improves performance in real life...at least, for me it does.

I find it best if these ditties are about one minute or less. Some are longer, like this one. Thanks for watching.

"When Your Wants Are Greater Than Your Needs" (Baggett). iPhone Ditty for March 28, 2023. Originally written for Stick/flute duo. Reworked into a solo piece. Excerpt (bridge & ending omitted).

Nice one Brian, totally agree with this remark. I think I'll go do one :D

I love what you did. Keep doing it!

My advice to all, beginners, advanced, and in between: we are all equipped with with mobile recording equipment. Smart phones might not be 100% pro equipment, but it gets the point across (much better than even a few years ago, video and audio). Don't be afraid to share your song idea, exercise, or playing progress.

I have found everyone on this board to be fairly supportive people. Even the people on the facebook Stick pages (and there are many) are supportive.

There is something relevant to the creative process by 'doing' and sharing. It most likely won't be a polished, finished work. Who cares. It's like sitting in a room with a few other like-minded players and sharing something as simple as a 30-second idea. Their response might help direct you in where the idea should go. Can't hurt.
