Post Satoru Tsuji
Does anyone know about Satoru Tsuji?

I have a nephew who relocated to Tokyo several years ago and he keeps running across this gentleman busking in (I think) Kyoto. He's shot some phone video and sent it to me and he sounds quite good.

He does a duo with a singer and you can find them on the web at:

He posts some videos on Facebook on a regular basis, and they are often very nice.

https://juuichi.bandcamp.com/ has a lot of his stuff. His singer is very good as well.

From memory, "Hydrangea" https://juuichi.bandcamp.com/track/hydrangea is kind of his signature piece.

From what I've seen, he favors an uncrossed hands playing technique.

New to me. I'll be adding him to my list at the next opportunity.

Very pleasant from a quick sample of a couple of albums. The prices for purchase seem unusually high for digital though?

I've found two relevant youtube channels.

One for the band (duo?) Juuichi

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX5FcJNia5fHqFGewlKhrAA

and another with a title in Japanese. I think it may be a fan page? I've sent a message to a Japanese speaker friend of mine to ask how the site title translates.

Some of the videos on this site feature Kai Kurosawa and 'Kubo' playing with Satoru Tsuji. :)

When I'm clearer about these links I hope to add Satoru Tsuji to my links list.

Juuichi

It seems that 'Juuichi' is Japanese for Eleven.

The logo used youtube & their website is based on the ideograms 十 (ten) and 一 (one), combining to make Juuichi, Eleven.

I wonder if that name might have anything to do with 'tone eleven' (Tony Leven), i.e. a cross language pun?

The title of the (possibly) fan page is apparently a bit odd because it starts off in hiragana but with katakana indicators for elongated vowels then switches to kanji, and is complicated by Google's gothic which makes it difficult to distinguish between the katakana character for elongating vowels and the character for the number one.
The suggested translation is:
Snow Goose 2002. Juichi Support

Maybe 'Snow Goose 2000' is someone's Internet handle?

All speculation of course? Perhaps Kai knows better?

Now added to my Stickist's list
