Post Emmett Chapman - Touchboard to Circuit Board
Hi everyone,

SE is proud to announce that another archive recording of Emmett's playing is now available. I've mastered the original tape from Emmett's 1986 demo cassette called "Touchboard to Circuit Board". This cassette presented the Stick as an integrated electric instrument and MIDI controller, driving multi-timbral synths via the Commodore 64 computer and customized IVL Pitchrider interface.

His playing takes full advantage of the technology available, and you can hear his enthusiasm for the possibilities. Six tracks, 27 minutes of music.

Happy Listening, Greg

Thank you very much Greg (& the rest of the team), I look forward to listening to it (probably over teh weekend). :D

PS. I wonder if SE is maybe considering putting Parallel Galaxy on Bandcamp?

You don't have to answer that, Greg. It's just a thought that's passed through my head a few times & this seemed like a moment to voice it. :)

The sounds he gets at ~15:20 are transcendent. Emmett's left hand does not observe casual Friday.

There are so many great moments, but yeah...

I've added chapter markers to the video so you can navigate the tracks more easily.
Happy Listening,
Greg

Thank you so much Greg!!!

Regardless of all the effects, you can really hear the left hand motor, which I heard whenever I heard Emmett play. And the free right hand, independent of the left but together., awesome stuff.

This and other recordings by Emmett, should be in the library of congress.
Beautiful music by a stringed magician.

Thanks again..

The Stick is in the Smithsonian.
You're right.
