Post subject:  Scott's Neoclassical Creation (Video)
:D Okay, so I was kind of messing around with Harmonic minor a bit the last little while, and this here is a bit I came up with tonight. I always have record on, and when I listened back I kind of liked it.

I treat the scale as a note pool to draw from, and I tried to keep things going while trying to create statements with both hands. As I am improvising this, it kind of takes a lot of concentration (I'm getting better at it, though!) I'm basically trying to pretend to be Bach (And Steve Morse) hahah

I'm just having some fun playing, and thought I'd share. I especially like the chromatic bits in there, I've been doing that more on guitar too lately (Again, all that Steve Morse I Iisten to...) Anyways, lemme know what you think, eh?

Cool! I see the two independent lines going, and the back and forth between the two hands. And you can throw some Liszt chromaticism into your Bach Rock counterpoint. I don't mind!

I live in that Neoclassical genre sometimes, and then I'll add some Billy Joel/Joplin rag to the Bach-Rock, and it's great fun on the piano. And on the Stick!

Thanks for rocking it out and sharing. Now you need to put that all into a tune!

I really enjoyed the mad creativity there, cuz. I don't want to draw obvious comparisons to obvious influences, so I won't. I just enjoyed that sucker.

Hey, fellas! Thanks for checking it out! It’s always appreciated when someone takes a “watch” or a “listen”! I always like seeing the comments as different listeners hear it differently and may come up with different insights. Cool!

Although I have a heap of projects on the go, I am trying to spend more time just “playing where I’m at” y’know, just making use of what is readily available(musically speaking)

Wow ! You knew i’de love this one didn’t you? [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4] Here’s a crazy thought: how about using that finger pattern that repeats to infinity and rebuild the tonality on the right hand while leaving the left in the same scale? Just thinking... [emoji848]

Someone noticed! I love Bach, but Paganini, Beethoven and Liszt are up there too! Started when I was a kid, I love that stuff! My music isn't perfect, but it's a lot closer to being music. And, it's getting closer to being the kind of music I want to play. I have this RIDICULOUS fuzz tone that I am absolutely in love with, man is it nasty... (more on that later)

As far as "rocking out and sharing" goes, I can do both no sweat, but "creating" a full on tune is something I'm putting a lot less of an emphasis on this year. When I play for me, warmups and just jamming it's probably short, easily digestible chunks of music. Primitive, but really the best that I can possibly eke out at the moment. It still feels like a bit of a scramble when I'm making this stuff up...

:D Well, I ain't got no talent so I need to severely overcompensate by putting in time. I've really, really managed to condense my practice time down though, no need for 16 hour days anymore! But when I DO get to do a 16 hour day I've got a sort of system going to keep myself learning.

Thanks for checking it out, it's a starting point that I'm hoping I can look back on in a year or two from now and be like "yeah... that was a starting point!" lol
