Hey! It's Saturday, guys! I thought I'd share a nice "crash and burn" one with ya, just 'cause I thought you could use a laugh... There was some trickiness involved, Some of the chords were just plain tough to do (The G7#5 in particular, but I got it...) Just a quick read down after practice for some practice! hehehe Enjoy the latest from the world's worst Stickist! :D

Lol I get super busy from time to time, really cuts into the time available for torturing the forums haha. Thanks for checking it out, man!

One thing that’s interesting about this (I think) is that the LH is playing the full chord, no omissions or implications. Min7b5 gets Rb3b5b7, All the tensions are there, and usually played as a full chord (LH only). Still working on Dom7#5, and Dom7#11 as chord stabs in the LH only, had to arpeggiate ‘em...

It's a starting point. Once again, I raise the bar on what is considered to be horrific Stick playing. Someone has to do it!

So, Scott, two things:

1. I swear I've never heard the original of this.

2. As a song, I don't like it. Your playing is fine, and the bass line is fine, but I don't like it with the melody, which I don't like. :o

Okay, this bothered me so I looked it up on the Intertoobz.

Pardon the Miles Davis. Okay, now I recognize it. And now I have confirmed what I suspected: this is a jazz standard, and not one of the few that I like.

Why Steve Sink doesn't like jazz is complicated and mostly unknown and un-examined to me. I like rock and classical, and not so much country, and not so much jazz. Maybe that's the long and short of it.

And I would normally just keep my opinions to myself (right!) but I thought it fair when I like so much of your stuff that I really should mention what doesn't work for me. And maybe that adds credibility to when I really like something and am not just saying so to turn your Immortal Soul over to the Dark Lord Dormammu.

So this posting only tells you that this Steve doesn't like a lot of jazz that I'm supposed to, much like some people don't like Tom Sawyer (Blasphemy! Heretic!). It shouldn't discourage you from doing more jazz (but might I suggest this bit o' metal over here, my fine sir?) :)

Jazz it on, my wayward son!

:D haha it's why I post this stuff, so I can get you guys talking about it! I invite criticism and discussion of my material. Some of what I practice will sound better than others, but hey, always something gained from trying it, I feel. Haha might have been the "sight-ready" nature of how I played it!

Good fun!

Hey Scott I’m loving your form of forum torture. Keep it up. I’m hoping to start posting but darn I’m too busy with other projects at the moment. I for one love this tune and as a trumpet player love the jazz side if things. Lots of awesome chords here. Maybe way too many which I m guessing might be partly why Steve might not be a jazz fan.
