Just a little chunk I put together for fun, I thought I'd share. I kind of slammed this together this morning, and I am still getting used to a position change with the Sytick, but hey! Here it is! Eleanor Rigby! One of my favourite tunes!

Emmett Chapman has a totally crazy version on his Parallel Galaxies album that I will admit took me a little while to wrap my mind around, but that is easily my favourite "tap" version of the tune... hahaha My version is, ummm not so good. :D Pretty simple, actually. Still it was a lot of fun to work out...

Anyways, enjoy! Lemme know what you think!

Eleanor Rigby is one of my favorite songs of all time. This is perhaps my favorite cover of yours, next to Fulsome Prison Blues. Exceedingly well done, Scott! :ugeek:   8-)

Sounds pretty good, Scott. Interesting arpeggios (how the heck do you spell that anyway) in the bass. Seems to vary a bit from the common 1,2,3,2 stuff that is the "go to" for a lot of us. I guess the next step would be to add the other vocal harmonies during the chorus instead of just the melody. How that might be accomplished is beyond my imagination at the moment.

Thanks for posting. As always, the sheer amount of time you spend playing the Stick is inspiring. I have had a Stick of some kind since about 1997 or 98, but I bet you have logged in more hours than I have already. I may catch up some day! I am getting way more time to play recently.

Mike

Hey Mike! Thanks for checking out my stuff, man! I am an obsessive practicer, yes it's true! I try really hard to get in as much quality practice time as possible. And yes, thanks for noticing that I do my own thing with the accompaniment! :D I always try to make stuff my own as much as possibleIt means a lot to me that someone noticed!

For the moment, I am focused on dealing with two voices, but I bet that one could kind of develop a fingerstyle-ish kind of thing on the melody side while simultaneously doing a fingerstyle-ish kind of thing on the bass side, that way one could really get various harmonies going as opposed to just "melody over chords" kind of thing (which goes a long way, it's pretty powerful). I've definitely got a long ways to go yet before I'm doing that sort of thing, but one day maybe... :D

Aww, Steve I just do these for fun. :D Thanks for checking it out, I just love this tune - it's a favourite! I share 'em to get people talking about music and possibilities! I spent about an hour or so on this one getting it ready, and I'm sure it could use a lot more work. The big thing is getting used to the fact that I can now extend my LH elbow out, gets me more range thanks to some adjustments I made with the Lapdawg and the Belthook. Today is the first day I have played without my thumbs and hand absolutely killing me, so that's nice haha

Thanks for checking it out, guys!

Scott just keeps the hits & videos coming !
Nice one , lends itself nicely to the stick and I figure you now pull these together very very quickly :o

Nice work Scott, left hand sounds especially smooth in this one.

Aww, thanks man! Yeah, this is a cool tune, isn't it? I am sure that it's one of those tunes that would sound awesome played on garbage cans! Haha

And yes, the time it takes to put a tune together is substantially less now...

Yeah, the position change and freeing up the thumbs have helped a great deal. My LH is already much more articulate than my right hand, so now I can finally start to leverage that, maybe it will show up in my playing, eh? :D
