lol I had a bit of extra practice time tonight, and thought I might try to get a bit more serious with this really fun "rock-out" over G7. It was fun, that's why I did it. Actually I did it because it was actually a moral imperative... hahahaha created quickly and carelessly by your friend Scott...

And you know what they say... "All. My. Friends. Have a low rider."

Enjoy! :D

You got the motor running and the kerchunk jacking up the shocks, ready to ride!

Quite the motor left hand. I like the change up on the left hand right before the end (again, too soon!)

[Throws some bread in Scott's virtual jar to get him to play some longer cover tunes...]

:D They are short 'cause they are just reading exercises. Hit record and read 'em. If it doesn't suck too bad, then I might post it. If it's just a melody with a chord symbol, then I make up my own accompaniment riff that implies the chord change; I have a few to choose from and I'm getting to the point of being able to choose from them on the fly.

I'm not sure if it's a motor, but I will say that Low rider in this case was G7 for the whole damn song, so basically a modal tune like 'so what' Except Mixolydian in this case...

Thanks for checking it out!

:D Thanks for checking it out, man! I appreciate the kind words! I literally read it down a couple of times and then hit record. The backing is all G7, so I just kind of "made it up" as I went, borrowing pretty liberally from stuff I practice... The practical power of sight-reading in action...

I have been trying to sight-read a real variety of tunes, y'know - some stuff that's a bit different from what folks might attempt to put down...

hehehe I may do a Low Rider video at some point but I am actually gonna probably do "Eleanor Rigby" first. I really like that tune a lot, and Emmet's version on Parallel Galaxies is really inspiring as is Stanley Jordan's version (Plus, I just really like that tune) My version will be pretty stripped down and not as good, 'cause well I'm just not in the league of those two guys... Still I want to do it, and I'll share it and a score when I do...

Thanks again for checking it out!

I want to learn this tune. Would love to see music for the bass line. Sounds great.
