Stick Tune - Folsom Prison Blues
Yep, it had to be done. HAD to. Happy Wednesday, guys, as Scott's reign of terror continues... Bahahahaha is there no end to the madness? (nope!) Put together at the end of today's practice, I thought I'd do something a bit different today...
(Seriously though, Johhny Cash rocks - I had a lot of fun slamming this one together so I hope it makes someone laugh!)

Kind of a rebellion from this crap that I was working on (A rough draft of a proggy rock tune...) (Little Big Muff Pi, A Malmsteen Strat and a Marshall combo, oooo!!) makes you almost want to listen to some country music...

Re: Stick Tune - Folsom Prison Blues
I love Johnny Cash. And I especially love the kerchunking. Steve A would be so proud.
This whole song's energy comes from a kick-ass, driving bassline. Then you just tap out the melody one note at a time. And we do love the melody and this entire album is just so awesome, actually.
But then when you get to the breakdown, that was cool. Simple, yet rock solid.
An inspired cover, I think. It could have been a couple of verses longer, frankly. Well done!

Re: Stick Tune - Folsom Prison Blues
Finally got a chance to listen to this (cant access sound cloud from work). This was really good! The whole thing sounded like two players picking rather than just one person, which is pretty cool, and kind of why I wanted to learn to play the stick in the first place.
The bass R58va, can you expound on? I get root, 5th, octave, but what is va?

Ah cool! I really like this take on an old standard. You should do a video - keep it tight to your hands. I want a see how you're making this happen.
