Thanks again for checking it out, fellas...
Always checking what you're doing, Scott. Sinister Yes Footwear. That's my take on it. Going over H2 notebook looking for tunes/basslines for a guitarist/drummer buddy of mine. He's got free time in a studio, we're goin' next Sat. Aug. 5th. Taking the 12 Grand, ESP Ltd. and Hartke ("art") $30 bass that I made fretless with only the Jaco p.u. working. So I'm looking foward to it, and it's giving me something to practice 'cause I can't play them yet! (All the stuff in the H2 is Stick, I'm bringing the basses just in case).

I'm trying to learn free walking bass while soloing freely with the right hand. What I mean by that is taking a break from those one position bass + chord grooves or so-called left hand "Motors" while soloing (as much as I love that) and actually walking semi-improvised musically informed scalar lines like a real bass player with nothing else on his mind would do in a shuffle blues for instance. It takes covering a lot of real estate to do this with one hand in 5ths but I've seen it done. I know I have to get there in a couple intermediate steps and like everything else it's just a matter of how many hours you can put in to get that together till it's second nature. Like Brett Bottomly says - if your'e gonna take your Stick to a jam session and are willing to tell the bass player to sit down, you better have some strong bass up your sleeve. If Barbara Dennerlein can do it with one foot on a B3 while shredding the blues relentlessly with both hands it seems to me something like that could be done on Stick if someone was so inclined. Check out the foot bass solo at 7:22.

Cool reply. Me too.
Everything I learn and practice is in an effort to get to a point where I can freely musicalize with both hands separately. Systemized sequences (motors), are the devil's work (haha Muzak) and even though I use 'em, and practice them, they are just a small piece of the puzzle to help get closer to being able to realize my imagination with this instrument. So yeah, hell yeah I like your reply!
