Inspired by Piratebruce I thought I'd take a stab at this for fun, and kind of read the sucker down and add a couple of solos. It was a fun bit to do, I just sort of went "pop baroque" style for the most part, although I had a different thing for the solos. Hope y'all dig it. It was fun, and pretty quick to put together. Lemme know what you think, eh?

Lol awesome! Haha but damn, that guy is super good!

My quick little arrangement is pretty primitive in comparison, but represents quite a few victories for me in regards to playing this instrument! Plus, it was fun to just hit record and go!

- I can put a "pop baroque" type arrangement together pretty quickly, and be able to play it fairly consistently. I learned, arranged and recorded Layla in about 45 minutes.
- Hands doing separate things, and the diversion of concentration isn't too hard to manage these days.
- Practice time has gone from slaving away for hours and hours for weeks and months on a concept with not a lot to show for it, to minutes per day and ALWAYS a positive step forward.
- I can leverage previous experience on other instruments.

It makes for a good starting point; I can at the very least now jam and play with anyone spontaneously, and having a repertoire of tunes is very easy to develop as I work on my improv, reading and composition. I can literally post a new song a day if I want, y'know "crank out the pop baroque stuff" kind of thing. Fun stuff.

Scott, this is the cleanest I've heard your playing sound yet. Good progress!

The link, for those who need it. I hear that Soundcloud may be toast pretty soon... Might need another hosting solution soon for Stick audio...

Thanks for checking it out, guys! It was pieced together rather quickly, and pretty much "read" down. As in my "warmups" thread, there are, like 4 things I practice in the bass side pretty religiously as a warmup; the "Stick Arpeggio" being one of them...

I am thinking I might do a "song every day" for a week kind of thing just to wail through some tunes. The act of recording the thing seems to make me focus a bit more on getting the tune done, even if it is quick and dirty...

Also really good, Steve is a monster player and Stickology is an excellent collection of tunes. Piratebruce plays this song really well also.

Disclaimer: My version of this is not really a "version" it's just some playing/practicing around within a harmonic framework, and me hitting "record" at the end of it. I thought it would be fun to share, that's all. Thanks for checking it out!
