Autopilot is a word I use to describe the muscle memory involved in holding down a part in one hand steadily enough to improvise over it with your other hand. This 3 part series will describe some steps I use as a skeleton to train my own muscle memory for improvising over left hand grooves, arpeggios and walks. This first video describes the very basic concepts and how to enact them. This is not meant to be a be-all-end-all method for achieving these goals, simply some tools I use that I find have really propelled this skill forward for me. As always, exercises and the rest of the series are available at http://www.patreon.com/jgoldbergmusic. Enjoy!
