New Video: Live Show, Full Set - Flint Blade
Hey Y'all, Here is the first set from my gig yesterday at the Wednesday Green Market in town here in Fort Pierce, FL. I broadcasted it live on Facebook, which saves the video for future generations of Stickists to enjoy. The audio is decent for being iPhone-mic, but the bass is a little weaker than I'd prefer. Lighthearted. Everything polyphonic. No serious chords but plenty of harmony. He's the entire act but not seriously, no bombast. And he physically loves to play The Stick - our good fortune.
The wind is blowing through an incredible set of wind chimes versatile enough to navigate any set of harmonic progressions, any polychords, any polyrhythms. Whispered percussion, tossed off lyrics, but the rhythm never stops
Thanks to the flinty one who cuts through to the musical core. You find the right venues, the right spirit for the occasion.

Great stuff, Flint! I admire your ability to sing and play at the same time, and the percussive beatbox on the looper works well for you! I'll have to try that. Thanks for sharing such an awesome show!

I'm sorry; I don't understand the question. beatbox: (music) To use one’s mouth, lips, tongue, voice, etc. as a percussive instrument to create beats and rhythms for music Flint is making beats into the mic with his mouth, looping it on a "looper," and playing over that percussion line with his Stick while also singing. It lets him make a quick, easy beat for a measure or two and then loop it, and play over it.

I didn't realize that. I thought you meant a drum machine or software called "beatbox" somehow was triggered by a Stick genetated loop to play a pattern back in sync. I'll have to check it out more closely. Thanks

Thanks to All for checking it out and offering feedback!
Thanks Emmett for reflecting colorfully. I appreciate Emmett's feedback because I've always known him to be very honest and thoroughly descriptive - never one for doling out too many compliments or even really to say whether he likes the music. Rather, Emmett tends to observe and describe the music in detail for what it is. I've learned to do this myself when talking to other musicians about their music. I'll focus on characteristics that stand out, instead of labelling the music good or bad.
to paigan0 and Captain Strings: Indeed, I make vocal percussion sounds into the looping device for a beat (but won't loop the Stick). No drum machines currently in use for live shows (only in the recording studio).
