Beautiful, and definitely another step forward in your music, technique and soul expression, and its all accomplished on my most underestimated Stick model, the minimal "Alto" (not many sold but it's my favorite short guitar scale Stick).
Your videos reminded me of several Stick artists who I think would admire these performances, including Guillermo Cides, Glenn Poorman and Rodrigo Serrao.
You have a solid left hand accompaniment concept that's versatile, holds together well and makes sense to me as a basic pianistic and rhythmic technique.

Maravilloso. It's written that you have a mirrored 4th tuning on that stick. That's right?

Thank you very much Emmett, very touched by your words. Thank you for taking the time.
It is an amazing instrument, and a perfect variation on the original idea. Love it! It has really captured me and gotten me un-stuck. I look forward to showing you all 2-3 original pieces with the Alto very soon.
Best, Japhlet

Re: 2 Yann Tiersen Pieces
Alain,
Where did you read this? I have the classic Alto tuning, which is the "normal" bass 5ths tuning, with a B on the 12th fret of the lowest melody string.
Thanks, cheers! Japhlet

Thanks, cheers! Japhlet Sorry, it's my mistake. It's in the signature of EricTheGray...sorry again.

Really amazing, beautiful and inspiring! I really loved it. And the alto does sound great: ever since I wached Bruce playing his I've been keeping an eye open for one. Congrats Japhlet, good music is a great gift to offer. Rodrigo

Re: 2 Yann Tiersen Pieces
I bought my used Alto Stick one month ago. Dreams came true -> viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11150 First impressions ? As a bass player I must ask: where is The Stick bottom? !!! ((( After a week of playing, I realized that I need to approach it differently .... It's different animal. Like ukulele, to guitar. They are not inferior. Only different. As a long life 10 and 12 string Stick player after a month of playing on Alto I agree with Emmett, that Alto is most underestimated Stick model. I'm still looking for my Alto tuning, but JapletBA interpretation Porz Goret blow my mind. In the last 24 hours I listened to it dozens of times. Your version flows .... Your passion ..... Stickup never fails ..... Congratulations !!! In my opinion much better than original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwwwWz6Ef3I

Re: 2 Yann Tiersen Pieces
Thank you so much Mahabresq, not sure if I surpassed the original, but I am touched that you feel this way haha. It is really nice to know you enjoyed it.
And, to be honest, I don't find that the Alto is missing bass. As long as I bring in the lowest 7 notes, I have been playing with my drummer and Alto and I love it. I'll be recording 2 of these songs very soon, so I am looking forward to feedback and comments.
When I bought mine, I wasn't sure how I would use it, and if I would be able to apply to my repertoire. I was at Stick Ent, and, having wanted a Bamboo Stick, and an Alto, I suddenly saw a used Bamboo Alto, and I grabbed it and knew I wanted it. I was very, very pleasantly surprised, and I actually use the alto on almost all the new stuff I'm doing. The different tuning was such a blessing, as I was confused and couldn't find notes, and ended up discovering new ideas, songs, and themes right away. Wonderful instrument, range, and feel.
The only thing I realized here is that my intonation is way off at times, since the frets are closer, and the strings thinner, I find myself bending notes a bit (I never realized until I heard these recordings...). I'm trying Mediums next.
