Cross Eyed Mary
I'm not seeing enough new showcase content, so I partially blamed myself. Have one.

Re: Cross Eyed Mary
Hey man! lol I thought it was a new Steve Adelson video at first! hahaha
Cool tune, pretty tall order playing and singing at the same time and trying to keep it all organized; Personally, I'm still working on the playing part for right now. Keeps me plenty busy! There's a lot of directions a person could take with this instrument, and player/singer seems to be one relatively few take on, so kudos to you!
I'm looking forward to hearing more man, so keep 'em coming!

Re: Cross Eyed Mary
Daniel, Excellent job with a very deceptively complex classic tune by Jethro Tull off of "the only side that counts" on Aqualung!
All the parts were there, played true to the original - which is what you strive to do, and the performance was from the heart not from the cold page. I thought your choice of timbre, chord voicings, effects were spot on. Your playing technique should be commended especially using two fingers to play the repeated bass line notes in the left hand. IMHO this made them more driving like the original and were key to creating the tension release with the ascending line.
Kudos & Congrats on a really nice post! Dave B "DBro"

Re: Cross Eyed Mary
@Dave,
Thanks for noticing that level of detail!
@ all (not the Latin kind),
I found playing the root followed by a double hit on the low 5th worked best with a hand roll and the same finger hitting twice with a hand roll back to the root. This slight position shift really allows for getting the right tone ("It's free hands, not free fingers" -The Bard). I think the soloing needs the most work. The newest addition is percussion to the outro. Throwing in slaps, kerchuncks and string pops is rewarding.
It's great having all the expert opinions and teachers to draw from.

Re: Cross Eyed Mary
Great job, Daniel! A one-man Jethro Tull! (Is that another Pink Floyd-like band that doesn't actually have anything to do with "Jethro Tull"?) [Wiki checks and comes back]: Of course! Named after the famed (not so famed) English agricultural pioneer, Jethro Tull. Right. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jethro_Tu ... iculturist) Thanks for taking this one on and sharing, Daniel!
