Funny How Love Is
I became a fan of the Fine Young Cannibals at a young age thanks to my dad playing them around the house -- for being a "one hit wonder" their music has a lot of character, feeling and a certain vibe that is very unique.
Recently this song kept popping into my head, so I decided to learn it.

Great choice of song to cover! I think your version is cool, with the "vocalized drums" stick and that soft style singing. The voice sounds great in that room too - is that the natural reverb of the room we see in the video? I'm hearing less of it on the Stick, but I guess the speakers were positioned closer to the video cam (thus picking up less room behind the Stick tone)?

Re: Funny How Love Is
Thank you Per.
Yes, all natural acoustics for this one.
The audio is from a field recording device, not the camera. Mic was as close to my face as I could get it without being seen in the shot.
Stick amp was further back, with spring reverb.
Go figure!

Re: Funny How Love Is
With the caveat that I've never heard the original, I liked this a lot, Flint! So, I don't care or know if you're being faithful to the original or not, but this was done very well. I enjoyed your singing as well, a nice easy voice. I liked the chord progression too (compliments to FYC, but you arranged it, so good job!), and like Per said, nice beatboxing there at the end, too.
The song would lend itself well in a duo with another instrument, say violin. (Again, no idea where the original took this). Just a thought--this was certainly complete with your bass and melody Sticking. Good job!
