Just found out about this unique combination from pianist Mark Kostabi.

That was really weird to hear levin in that kind of free setting. Not sure how much I 'really like but I certainly admire the adventurous improv. Its a rare find, and I'll have to listen again to absorb it a bit more and maybe leave my levin preconceptions behind.

Ornette Coleman has always been one of those guys I've tried to get and/or like on several occasions but I just don't. I saw the "Song X" tour with Pat Metheny and left wishing I hadn't :)

It's cool to see this particular lineup of players and instruments though.

Sounds like Mark is laying down a very interesting part and Jerry is locked in with him. Tony and Ornette are just noodling all over it. I would have preferred Tony to lock in at some point as well to give all if that tension a purpose. I used to play in an ensemble that was free form jazz/fusion or whatever. It was great fun and quite a challenge because you always had to be listening very closely to find even the slightest theme. Thanks for posting Greg. I am very excited to hear Tony's new album with Torn and White.
