Hi,
I know nearly nothing about King Crimson (Okay...I heard Elephant Talk, but that's about it) and I whant to change that.
What are the "must have" CDs of King Crimson ?
Thanx in advance

Re: King Crimson
Well according to Bill Bruford the 2 masterpieces are
Red Discipline
I agree with that (the best of the 2 most important periods)

Re: King Crimson
They went through different phases and incarnations. From the early era, Court of the Crimson King, Starless and Bible Black. From the Middle era- Discipline, Beat . From the Later era Thrak, Power to Believe. They also have many many live "official" bootlegs, and videos out there. I wouldn't listen to them back to back or nonstop. It's easy to OD on King Crimson.

Brett I really like "Three of a perfect pair" too. And in case you also like Jazz, look for the "Crimson Jazz Trio"; jazzed up KC covers played by an excellent jazz trio. Cheers, Daniel.

Re: King Crimson
Too many changes over the years to narrow down to one era. But since you're coming from a Stick player's forum, I would strongly suggest to start with Discipline and Beat and then start moving out in both directions.

Re: King Crimson
You may start with Eyes Wide Open DVD (part I, for instance), as I did.

Take your time and enjoy.
