Post Freeway Philharmonic
One of the girl's dads who is going on the trip to Spain is a big guitar player. We got talking, and he noticed that I was playing the Stick, so he burned me some Freeway Philharmonic. I don't recall exactly, but I think he said there's Stick on it. Regardless, I feel like I hear it. Any truth to this? This band is awesome Stick-aside. Who plays in it? Anyone else here listen to it?

It's Larry Turtle, now in String Planet. I don't have any cd of him, but plan to buy a String Planet cd . I think they have released the second one these days. Greg has put some String planet videos on Youtube recently.

Larry Tuttle (I'm sure he's been called Turtle before)!

Revisit the thread on the Chapman Stick forum entitled "LT: Through the gates".

Cheers,
Andy

Strange, I though that he was called Buttle... (Remember Brazil? ;) )

Daniel.

PS: I did check IMDB and the subversive air conditioning mechanic (played by Robert de Niro) name is Archibald “Harry” Tuttle. That's how I did the association, I wonder what a shrink will think ;-). Memory works in strange ways sometimes...

That's so weird. I thought that FP sounded like String Planet...

Is it the same woman on Viola?

Yep, that's Novi Novog on viola (also heard on "Raspberry Beret" by Prince and "Black Water" by The Doobie Bros.

I have a couple of Freeway Phil's CDs, they come into rotation on a pretty regular basis. I actually heard one of their Christmas tunes playing in a shopping mall this year!

Take care,

Paul
