I met Greg at an Arlington, Virginia Border's Books performance in the early 90's. Other than seeing Tony Levin on TV, I had never seen a Stick performance before. With Greg's encouragement I got my first Stick and started lessons with him when he would come up to the DC area where I live. On and off over the years, Greg has been a teacher, mentor and friend. In 2019 he traveled up for two Stick Night performances where he dazzled the audience. I have fond memories of the last Stick seminar I attended in Charlottesville in March 2019. His albums are inspirational and groundbreaking. The world (especially the Stick and music world) is a much better place because of him. |
