hi all. was looking for something to play a while back that had a koto feel to it and i came across a composer (mostly for classical guitar) named Marek Pasieczny. and a piece he composed call "kiri - princess tree"
I made a basic transcription of it for matched reciprocal tapping instruments that you can find here.

Wow, that is very beautiful. Never thought to explore a Koto sound on the Stick. If you ever get a transcription for Classic tuning, I would love it! Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

I really, really like this piece, particularly the expressiveness and pensiveness of your rendition. The tone quality that you're getting from your Stick works very well here.
Did you do anything special in particular to get your "koto sound"?

It’s an acoustic tapper, not a stick. It’s got a matched reciprocal tuning so the sheet music works for sticks. Someday I’ll post a stick version. The acoustic one is just for reference in case anyone is interesting in playing it . It should work well on a stick with any kind of clean sounding effects rig with a small bit of reverb and small amount of (fractal or some other method ) of doubling/detuning ( chorus is usually too much )

Sounds cute but it's not a Stick. It's Dragonfly.

Yes. As I mentioned you can certainly get a sound with the stick that will serve the piece well. Liberal use of holding notes with the first finger while pulling off with the third finger gives some plucking dynamics that help a lot with the feel of the piece. It takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it , but helps a lot in bringing some different dynamics to one’s playing

thanks! , It should be straightforward to just shift fret hints as needed . A “classic” excercise for the reader [emoji16]

Ah, that makes sense. (Although, in all fairness, with this group I half expected "I have this 'nylon acoustifier' Helix patch..." )

Maybe you could "double the recipe" and send one my way as well (or post it here, assuming that this wouldn't cause issues for / with the composer)?

there is a web site where you can buy his scores. it's a little old fashioned in that you have to send an email to request with what you want it then they will tell you how to paypal. them and get the score book (it's the score for a whole album "travels" ) there are some other pieces. that are interesting and worth transcribing which i may do in the future there's at least one i have in mind
