Post Re: Song of the Month 3 suggestions
Hey folks. End of Mad World month is nearing. What will March song be? Cast your suggestion to have your suggestion included in a poll. Monday night I’ll do up a poll with suggestions. Please suggest tunes you would like to hear at a open mic or tunes other people would or should know. Obscure tunes probably won’t get many votes. Remember any song that gets a vote gets included in the following months poll. This is an opportunity to start learning some tunes for any gigs you might put together. And learn tunes you might never have considered.

Thanks

Rob

Rob, I want to join the reindeer games and play, but I don't normally do covers and I'm supposed to be working on vocals. But then I should just shut up and let you guys rock it out, and cheer you guys on.

But forget all that. If I'm working on vocals, might as well do a cover. There's a song that I halfway-figured out on the Railboard over a year ago and forgot, but I'm sure I can get it back. And the vocals are a really low bar for me, a beginning vocalist--and Stickist!

The bassline is doable by me, but I'm not sure if I can do a right-hand guitar strum over it. Maybe I'll do two hand on the NS, and that way, I can strum and play bass easier. And then sing, that's a bitch. Maybe I'll karaoke it.

Anyway, this is the song I'm working on for March. I think it's in my ability but it'll be pretty shitty. But even though you can't polish a turd, you CAN roll it in glitter. I'll do my best.

And I'll still be cheering you guys on, whatever you all decide.

I would like to see Gordon Lightfoot's song, Sundown. It's a got a great baseline, interesting tonality and melody.

“Does it have to be a complete song?“

Hey workspace. Sorry for the delay in answering. A complete song would be suggested as I’ve had the idea that if you did an open mic or a pub gig that you would play complete songs. Learning cool riffs is an awesome way to learn. But it’s only a part of the song. For posting what your working on post what you have and if you want to post a riff then that is great. Kind of like Bohemian. I only posted the beginning and Scott posted only a solo. So if you want to post a snippet that’s what we want. And song suggestions should be a complete song or perhaps the song that has the cool riffs in it
