Awesome, fun stuff. Should probably be "required listening" for Chapman Stick players. This is one of many really cool tunes... Some fun Saturday jazz-thrash for y'all...

Interesting, seems like his right hand is always outstretched, or is it my imagination? I would have got a ruler across the back of my hand in piano lessons. :)

Isn't he awesome, though? I didn't notice anything about the fingers other than they are flying around playing a bunch of cool stuff.

Yes, he's amazing. Even Joe Satriani mentions lessons learned by him!
Just funny how some of the greats use unconventional means like guitarist who use their thumb to fret low notes etc.. Metheny does this alot! :)

Satriani story
My full interview with Joe is on my website.
He verified he took lessons with Mr. Tristano.
Lennie would give him an assignment. Something like play a harmonic minor scale in triplets. The next week he was expected to play it perfectly even slowly. If the student made a mistake, the lesson was over. Joe told me that after two very expensive 5 minute lessons he learned something very important, ya gotta practice. He went on to learn Wes Montgomery lines and more. I've never heard this side of Joe's playing but he does present some great solos

Joe has done a bit more than just present great solos, don't you think? Played with Mick Jagger, Deep Purple, Chickenfoot. Students like Alex Skolnick, Steve Vai, Kirk Hammett. He's sold a record or two, plays stadiums, influenced millions... consistently innovating while creating great tunes...
