Post RIP Greg Allman
I'm getting tired of losing great musicians... please make it stop. Anyways...

Here's my favourite Allman Brothers tune. I hope y'all dig it. If you don't, you probably don't like music. Anyways... Amazing work all around.

"One Way Out"

Yeah everybody's dyin'. What's up with that? This one hits close to home. I went to Castle Heights Military Academy with Gregg and Duane way back in the early 60s and remained tight for the rest of both of their lives. Duane is the guy who got me off surf guitar and into hardcore R&B. He taught me what a +9 chord was, what a turnaround was,who Bobby "Blue" Bland,Ray Charles,T-Bone Walker and B.B. King were and things like that back way back when we were both 16. Creds to Gregg for keeping it all going after Duane died. Those guys lived pretty hard and loose but were both good souls. Wow.

Dude, that is bloody awesome that you were tight with these guys. Allman Bros rock, all I can say. It really is a loss...

Such an awesome song! And Rest in Peace, Gregg Allman! It's so awesome that Captain Strings shared that memory of the two Allmans. My condolences on the loss of your friends.

As the Baby Boomer Rockers keep aging, and a lot of them led lives that were rough on the body and the hearts, I guess we'll see more of our rock legends passing. And then there's Prince and Chris Cornell and others going way too young. And somewhat by their own hands.

But some of the even older rockers are still around--I'm not gonna name them though lest I jinx them. And someone get some bubble wrap around Eddie Vedder, before there's no more Seattle grunge vocalists left!

A bit morbid, I apologize but it is Memorial Day weekend and Sunday morning. Best wishes, Captain Strings (Michael), and thanks for posting this video, Jayesskerr (Scott)!

The A. Bros were my first concert experience, and well worth it. Recently working on Les Brers with bass and melody starting on different beats, coming together and separating again it is a good metaphor for brothers. These guys definitely had creative spirits hiding behind their Southern Rock exterior. It is an annoying thing about aging, watching all the old greats pass on.

Unfortunately death is part of life. I know I will pick up this winning ticket one day. We all will win this lotery. This being said...R.I.P. to Greg Allman.
