I just watched this Tedx talk by Victor Wooten and has given me a new way of looking at music. I've read his book "The Music Lesson: A Spiritual Search for Growth Through Music" and it was a real inspiration too.

But the TED talk was very inspiring and interesting to hear him speak. I thought the first part on language was exceptionally good and the patter part was just really good but a little off focus from the language point. But I did not mind the tangent into Make Music Not War--it just was somewhat of a tangent.
So, phenomenal musician: check. And interesting personality: check. And he looks like he'd be a really, really good teacher. And really good timing for my current Wooten-fest. Thanks so much for sharing this!

Re: Music is a language
Since many years I answer (when people ask me how many languages I speak) people I do speak french, english, spanish and music. I speak and also write these 4 languages. And I also say that I do have subdivision in music...I speak and write many instruments...guitar, bass, cello, etc...and sometimes I only write some...like saxophones, trumpet, trombone, etc...lol.
