Re: Virginia Splendore
I don't have any words. She only a few days ago posted recent videos, that's why I started this post.
Please post the interview.

Re: Virginia Splendore
When I started getting my bearings as a Stick player, Virna was kind and encouraging. I enjoyed my communications with her; she was a kind soul, and a great player.
Even well-intentioned words fail. My wish is that wherever she is, she is at peace, and understands just what she meant to so many people.
I will miss you, Virna.

Re: Virginia Splendore
After reading of Virna's passing, I am speechless. My heart aches for all of you that were close friends to her, have been inspired by her work or had the treasured opportunity to meet or talk with her. Her music will be watermarks on all of our souls.
Dearest Virna, may you rest in peace.

Re: Virginia Splendore
That is very sad news indeed, not just for Virna's family, friends and the Stick community, but for herself as well. I hope she found peace, or at least relief, by her actions.

Re: Virginia Splendore
For all the friends of Virginia who are here. I'm putting together a tribute page to her on the stick.com site. Please send me any memories, comments about her music, photos (please include the dates and what was going on) and videos you'd like to see included. This is such a huge loss for all of us. I've never known a musician who was so modest and honest in her creativity. Virginia was a wonderful person, I'm very sad at her passing, but also very grateful to have had the chance to know her, to spend time with her, and hear her music. Please do not send thing to me via PM. Please email them to me at: stickist@aol.comTo all of you who knew her, I'm deeply sorry for your loss.

This is so very sad. To have that much pain and the only recourse being the taking of your life. It hurts to think she had gone that far. Several years ago her and I had been exchanging email about the Ebow. She was looking for one and had some general questions about them. It's strange - I just purchased an Ebow last week and was going to contact her to see how she getting on with her Ebow.

Re: Virginia Splendore
I am so, so sad... I met her three times, she helped me in buying and learning the stick. She was so gentle, generous... and the music was her way to express her true soul.
May the earth be light upon you, Virna.

I remember those posts - I'm the one who traded my prior generation-modified E-Bow in trade for some of her CD's. Someone stole hers and those little guys cost a whopping $200 in Italy. If I remember right she liked using it on her bass as well as the Stick and mine was modified by sanding off the channels to get closer to bass strings. I got her CD's almost the next day, and for the next month or so I spent a lot of time chewing out USPS for getting the E-Bow there so late - however she wasn't worried as customs there take their sweet time, business as usual. Never gave me the impression she had any problems from her PM's. This is quite a shock. Here's one of the CD's she sent me, nice personal touch:

Virna fue la primera stickista en colaborar con un artículo en la web. Triste noticia para todos los aficionados del stick. Hasta siempre Virna ! Epakta http://www.sticksynth.com
