Post profile picture question
Greetings Friends !!

Hey, I have a really dumb question, since I am not too smart with computers.

I'd like to have a proper profile picture - instead of just part of the image I want to use, but I can't get it "small enough" so it would both display and load properly - is there like a trick to re-sizing images so I can have a proper profile picture as well ??

Thanks !!

PS: I did try and see if this was already answered elsewhere, but had no luck so apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere.

I believe that there are online utilities for resizing image files, but if you have some kind of image-editing software already, you can probably do it yourself. Open the file you want to use in whatever program you have, and there is usually an option somewhere on the menu to "resize image". Normally there will be a an option to resize by size (in inches/cm) or in pixels. You want to resize in pixels (the limit for avatars on this site is 90x90 IIRC).

There will be controls on the dialog that will be presented to you that allows you to select the final size, and a check box to indicate that you want to "maintain aspect ratio". If the image you start with is square, just punch in 90 pixels for either the height or width, leave the check box checked, and click the "Ok" button.

OR you could just email me the image at ssawyer AT stephensawyer DOT com & I'll be happy to do it and send it back. Easy-peasy.
