Ha ha ha ha ... Well they say there's no such thing as bad press! funny, they forgot to mention Tony Levin in the mini article. Probably because he makes it look cool!

Re: OUCH! Brutal article
You know the guy is a moron when he calls Trey Gunn a "metal nerd." What a douchebag.
Any piece which has as its hallmark a total lack of punctuation knowledge is not to be taken seriously. As one comment pointed out, we should forgive him because he's French.

Re: OUCH! Brutal article
I find this article very funny and in some ways quite spot on. It's just a kind of french sense of humor.

And for the record, playing the stick HAS gotten me laid, and I am far from a great player.
In fact my current GF first met me at a gig I was playing.

There's always somebody dragging you down, not just the French. Besides, I only love the Stick for it's community.

Re: OUCH! Brutal article
I guess on a comedic level, the article has some worth. As far as any press being good press, I remember it being said that Boomer Esiason made a ton of money on t-shirts that said "Boomer Sucks!" which he had printed up himself.
I am also reminded of one of the first bass lessons I gave to a teenager who hung his bass so low that he could barely reach the strings. Our early discussions revolved around this. "Do you want to LOOK cool or SOUND cool?" He clearly most wanted to look cool and didn't want to compromise an inch to be able to play the instrument more comfortably or efficiently. And I suddenly found myself too busy to fit him in to my schedule. By my own reason, I think that when trying to be a creator of something that is pleasing to the ear(Music), it is far more important that you sound cool(as the article stated..."play bass, chords, melody etc"). If you don't look cool enough on the cover of an album for the purpose of sales, use an abstract painting or something.
This is where the humor of the article comes in. I would guess the author really doesn't believe that the ultimate purpose of making music is to get laid. That lies more in the realm of magazine contributing authors. Watch out girls!!! Here comes Time's sexiest freelance journalist of 2015.
