Post DBro GETS A FAVORABLE ARTICLE!
I am thrilled to find out our major newspaper, Pittsburgh Tribune Review, this morning in their popular Weekend Section, did a review of the great Cafe IO. This is where I have play every Wendesday night and have since last June. In addition, they devoted a whole paragraph to my playing the Chapman Stick. As Christopher Walken as the Continental on SNL would say "Wow-Zee-Wow-Wow!"

This is good press in the populous media that helps get the message out there about Emmett's wonderful instrument!

Please read my previous Gig 101 posts and how I got this gig and kept it. I believe in all of you and you can do this!

take care,

I got a chance to see him in action there, very nice place and Dave was on Q.
The area where Dave sets up is wider than what you see from that camera angle.

Go Dbro!!!

Well the proof is in the pudding. Do they serve pudding at Cafe Io? Probably not. Anyway what I meant to say was this is more proof of how your approach pays off. Thanks for sharing your approach and the results with us. Congratulations DBro.

Dave, how is it even possible to bring the heat on Moon Shadow?! You are on your way to becoming legendary.

Hey. The power of nostalgic 50-60 year olds can not be denied! :)

Yes, I'm bein' followed by a moon shadow
Moon shadow, moon shadow
Leapin' and hoppin' on a moon shadow
Moon shadow, moon shadow
And if I ever lose my hands
Lose my power, lose my land
Oh, if I ever lose my hands
Ooh, I won't have to work no more

I know the song, which is why I asked the question.

Rob,
If I recall, someone requested "Moon Shadow" after I played "Wild World". I started into Moon Shadow without the music, and surprisingly I remembered most of it! Then I morphed it into "All Apologies" by Nirvana then morphed it into "Come Together" by the Beatles. followed by... ahh applause! Again, I was really thrilled with the review!

Amazing what playing two octave "d"'s can lead into! Lotta Fun!

thanks for the kind words everyone as always!
Dave B "DBro"

Ps Moonshadow is a fun tune, with some real nice standard chord changes and a opportunity to play a harmonized downward line with both hands right before the last line in the chorus.

Right on, Dave! If you can make it there, you can make it any where! Although in all fairness, it is up to you.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania innit? When the "Stillers" ain't in the Super Bowl 'nat, we folks upstate tend to forget. Congratulations on the press! And if you can, get up here and play!!!

Yer pal, Mike 'nat

If you are going for morphing, which you do nicely on the spot:

It's a marvelous night for a moon shadow dancing with myself.

The challenge is on. Joking.

Seriously, thanks for your contribution to the community, Dave.
