Post RECAP: Free Hands Friday #38 - Luc and Jen Bergeron
This week's episode of Free Hands Friday features Luc and Jen Bergeron, quite possibly the first Stick couple (unless you count Emmett and Yuta), who are entirely too sweet together. We were lucky enough to have Dale Ladouceur as our host, and it must be said that she makes everything better.

I will be honest: I was so out of it that I do not remember much of what was discussed. Just watch the show; it is a good one.

Next week, Josh Goldberg will be interviewing his GEPH bandmate John Tyler Kent.

I was only able to catch a little of it live. Will check out the replay. I'm really looking forward to hearing you and Jen play together, Luc.

Thanks for saving the day and making sure this happened, Rob.

Before we go much further with the "first Stick couple" moniker, accuracy demands that I point out that Jen and I are not the first married couple to both play Sticks. This was pointed out by Glenn Poorman (if memory serves), and at least one or two couples are still active, as well as a father-daughter team.
And in terms of the capital-letter "First Couple of the Stick" title, that definitely belongs to Emmett and Yuta.
But we appreciate the sentiments - I've always felt very welcomed and supported by this community, and Jen got a good dose of that while we were at FHA. It was a big part of her decision to get into the instrument.
And yes, Rob, again, thank you for stepping up, gathering up the bits, and making it happen!
PS: Another reason for Jen's choice of Stickup on her instrument, beyond the weight, was to help differentiate its sound from the Railboard.

There is another "Stick Couple" on Vancouver Island, Bill and Rita.

Nice Luc! Fun to hear both of your background leading up to getting your Sticks. Great stories, lots of humor, and a passable Steve Adelson impersonation by Luc...(Hey, if it feels good, do it, ya know.) Even had some of his physical mannerism while saying it! No disrespect to Steve. He certainly has a way of demystifying a somewhat mystifying instrument. And that is just the sort of offhand remark that will get a beginner to stop over-thinking it and just get to the business of making some noise. Then the over-thinking comes later!

Congratulations on finding yet another way for you two to partner together.

Mike
