Post Interlochen Fingerstyle Guitar Workshop 2014
So this summer at Interlochen I will be attending purely as a student of the six string variety of instrument.

I'm pretty excited that in addition to Matt Shroeder and Tom Clippert (the regular instructors), this summer's workshop will be bringing back Laurence Juber and also featuring Muriel Anderson.

Any other fingerstyle players out there? This is a great workshop and well worth the visit.

Wow, that sounds fantastic. I am a big fan of both of them and the workshop is four days long. Haven't played guitar for a long time, though.

What a coincidence, I've been checking out Muriel's harp guitar vids and now she's coming to Interlochen. 8-) Keeping up with my usual habit of doing Interlochen by Stick or guitar, I'll be there again.

Thanks for posting, last time I checked the teachers were not listed.

Eric, come on out, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

When I attended in 2012 I hadn't played in a while. That workshop really gave me a shot in the arm as far as acoustic guitar goes and I've been keeping up ever since. I love my Sticks of course but sometimes it's nice to have an instrument you can just grab and play. So I keep my Sticks in my studio and my guitar in the living room near the TV :-)

If you can make it on Thursdays at Oz's, Beau is a pretty good finger style player teaching the group guitar lessons. Tonight he had us singing and comping chords on simple songs, focusing on using your voice to find chord changes by ear. Makes learning songs a lot easier. I've been plugging it in to the Fishman more often lately, experimenting with a looper.

Just booked the last room available, in a dorm setting, no cabins available

A lacrosse team has taken over most of the campus that whole week, there's also one concert.

I am officially signed up for this now. I had to skip last year as we were doing our own Stick event so I'm really looking to returning.

I've attended workshops with LJ before and he's absolutely fantastic both as a player and lecturer. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of all things music and his talks are as much about theory and harmony as they are guitar so there's a lot to come away with that is equally as applicable to the Stick.

I've never seen Muriel in person before but I've heard her play and am really looking forward to her workshops.

Just exchanged e-mails with Matt Schroeder, the student performances will be held off campus, most likely the Haufbrau down the street.

Made the drive north tonight. Workshop starts tomorrow. I have fresh strings on and have been sitting outside tonight playing guitar.

Side note: after 15 years of changing Stick strings I always feel like a quick draw artist when I change guitar strings. Or maybe the pit crew at an Indy race :-)

Muriel is cool, I took a harp guitar lesson with her here in Knoxville, last year. (She plays Knoxville frequently). You can tell her Jeff from the Knoxville Guitar Society says hi. :)
