Post Beer for Stick players?
king crimson
King Crimson is an Imperial Red Ale that delivers a royal bounty of luscious, fruity American hops on top of a sturdy, deep red malt backbone. This beer is lavishly dry-hopped with Simcoe, adding a citrusy and piney flavor and aroma to the toasty, sweet malt notes. This special treat is a very limited Winter release, so enjoy it while you can!

Tim Adams, our Mid-Atlantic man by day, and research and developer by night, created this recipe in his kitchen.

ABV: 9.5% IBUs: 90

Suggested Food Pairings: spicy appetizers, grilled meat, asiago cheese, peppery cheeses, chocolate dessert

ABV - Alcohol by volume

IBU - International Bittering Units

This is a measure of the actual bitterness of a beer as contributed by the alpha acid from hops. Because the apparent bitterness of a beer is subjective to the taste of the drinker and the balancing malt sweetness of the beer this is not always an accurate measure of the "hoppiness" of a beer. But, generally speaking, beers with IBUs of less than 20 have little to no apparent hops presence. Beers with IBUs from 20 to 45 are the most common and have mild to pronounced hops presence. Beers with IBUs greater than 45 are heavily hopped and can be quite bitter.

Looks like you found this on one of your Sedona trips Steve. With 9.5 % alcohol though I don't see too much Stick playing going on while enjoying.

Ever had anything from Ninkasi Brewery out of Eugene Oregon.
I recommend "Tricerahops" if you can find it.

Peace

This ale is a bit too hoppy for my taste. I prefer an ibu of 30-40

Plenty of viscosity with the 9.5

Also the SRM appears about 13 which is acceptable but over 20 is better :)

This is brewed in Maine BTW.

Now I see that Brett. All I know is that I am going to get neither in the California Central Valley.
There is a brewery in Sedona Arizona,Oak Creek ,that also has a King Crimson Red Ale.
It is not the one he is talking about in this post. I wonder if he knows about the Sedona one though,Steve ?

No this is from Peak Brewery in Maine. Didn't catch the KC ale in Sedona last month. Could be seasonal. I've gotten Oak Creek's tasting samplers on most visits. Hope to return late spring
