Congratulations on the execution of a successful workshop Jeff. I can say with some authority that it is very gratifying to wrap up such a weekend. Nicely done to you, Greg and David.

I was very happy to act as host for this event, and I hope to host other Chapman Stick events in the future. Thanks Jeff, For putting this together. You did a great job. Your school was the perfect place for such an event. I had a great time and look forward to putting up a report on the SE page with more pics soon. I really enjoyed working on that Andrew York piece with you, too. I'm going to have to start arranging more guitar music for solo Stick. It works out really well I think. Here's one group shot of those in attendance: I hope to get back down to Knoxville sometime next year. Next Free Hands workshop: "Focus on the Phrase" Intermediate/Advanced Charlottesville, Nov 6th. http://www.greghoward.com/free_hands/seminars/

First I want to thank Jeff for being such a gracious host for the workshop last weekend. I think that it was an excellent experience for everyone involved. To Greg & David thank you both for your time and in sharing your experiences and insights on the stick.
As I have been playing approximately a year when I showed up on Saturday; I never dreamed of how much musical baggage I was carrying into this craft from my past experiences with playing both the bass and the guitar. It almost like I had tied my left hand behind my back by approaching the bass side as a bass and not spending more time developing the chordal component that is under my finger tips. I have an new target for myself after the adventure this past weekend. I found the day to be both insightful and humbling. I do hope we get to do this again next year!
And the concert at the French market was memorable to say the least. I only wish that I had invited more of my friends from Cookeville to come up and see the show. It would have truly knocked their socks off!
Wishing everyone all the best! -Will

We have a bunch of pics, but have not had a chance to go through them yet. Will try to get some posted soon. Greg & I have already started scheming about another future Knoxville Stick event.
Will, I'm glad you were able to discover such specific inspiration. I too had a few "ah-ha" moments with each instructor.

Wish I could have been there.
Being laid off has interrupted so many plans. Thankfully, a new "permanent" job begins on Monday and the stick savings account will be reactivated!
