Post Railboard Active Mode vs. Passive Mode Sound
I've been playing my Railboard in the passive mode, mainly because I'm too lazy to find the cord needed for the active mode, and set up the mixer that has phantom power.

My question is it worth the extra effort to use the active mode because the sound is different, maybe even having a better tone than passive?

I do find on my wooden sticks that an active pickup in fact does sound different, a little more jazzy, having a fatter tone.

I don't use longer cords, which would be an advantage for the active mode.

Any thoughts from Railboard owners?
