Chieli is such a good guitar player!! I think I told you before that I picked up the Special EFX album "Slice of Life" back in the 80s (way before the Stick or before you and I would meet) and just played and shit out of it.

We saw him at a really cool outdoor venue in Detroit called Chene Park. I believe they played there more than once but I want to say it was 1987.

Pure happenstance that I caught them on NPR in Detroit. I don't think a ton of people knew who they were around there.

Special EFX has been together over 4 decades with various musicians from its leader Chieli to Dave Wekl, Omar Hakim, Karen Briggs, and so many others. I played on their All Star CD in 2021. An honor.
