Sean Malone has passed away
If this is the wrong place for this, feel free to move it.
It was announced today that Sean Malone passed away. Sean was probably my favorite Stickist, and it was through his project Gordian Knot that I discovered the Chapman Stick. Sean was probably most known for his work with the band Cynic, but also had a Solo album, along with his two Gordian Knot albums.
I was lucky enough to meet him a few times, and he was always a kind and gracious person, and even sat with me and talked about his work with the stick. He will be missed.
If you’ve never heard him play, I highly recommend checking out both Gordian Knot projects, as well as his solo album Cortland, which are very much Stick heavy.

What a loss, Focus and Gordian Knot are groundbreaking albums for me.

Re: Sean Malone has passed away
That is very sad. Much too young with 50 years. The first Gordian Knot album is one of my favorite albums involving the Stick.

Re: Sean Malone has passed away
@#$%#!! Seriously?
The first Gordian Knot record is one of my desert island records. Plus Sean himself was simply a brilliant musician. Very influential for me. I never met him personally but we'd emailed quite a bit back when I was Emmett's webmaster and he was helpful with advice while I was making my 2007 "121normal" release. That's one guy I always wanted to get up to Interlochen and, in spite of a couple of attempts, we just never managed to make it work.
Sad day!

Frank Jolliffe passed at 53, Ray Ashley at 41, Sean Malone at 50, truly sad.
