Post Combining scale rudiments
Continuing on with the scale rudiment stuff, this video talks about combining the basic rudiments and the HWH rudiment in cool ways to open up new and interesting sounding scales. The information of this video is greatly bolstered by having watched the first two videos in the series, so if you haven't yet, I recommend checking them out before you hit play on this one. As always, exercises and more are available at http://www.patreon.com/jgoldbergmusic. Enjoy!

Interesting! And thanks! You mention mining old guitar books & converting to Stick. Being a bassist, I have a book "The Bass Grimoire", all the scale stuff is in fourths tuning over four strings so it's immediately adaptable to the "infinite grid" of the Stick!

:D I know that everyone learns differently, but I looked through one of those grimoire books once when they first came out, and it seemed like a lot of pretty repetitive stuff... I thumbed through, and yuck - completely unappealing... That's just me though. If it works for ya, use it I say...

Thanks Marty! Yeah I'm using the Guitar Grimoire for scale stuff, great resource.

Scott, no doubt everyone learns differently. For me, this stuff feels like a book full of chemical reactions I'm interpreting. The data is pretty dry but I know I'll be able to use the component "chemicals" to get some pretty neat results.
