I'd be curious to know the exact weight?

I think you'll like the new Grand Railboard. It's a bit heavy but shouldn't be a problem for most of you.

Website says the 12-string Railboard is 9.3 lbs. (10-string is 8.6 lb). The average weight of the wooden Grand is 7.6 lbs.

Thanks Marty. My 40 year old #404 Angica Stick is weighing in at approximately 5+ lbs.
I'm tempted to buy a 12-string Railboard, but the CAD/USA exchange rate is not in my favor.
I'd like to see it in bright white, so that stage lighting can change the color appearance on demand.

Emmett,

I noticed what looks like an additional rough-textured bevel on the edges of the rear of the instrument in the latest pictures. Is this what you're talking about? Is it angled out away from the player, sort of like the angle of the bevel original wood instruments? If this is the case, I think this may add some comfort for the thumbs, at least for me!

Forgive this as being a dumb question, I've only seen one Railboard in person a couple years ago, and I can't remember if that was a feature or not.

I remember holding a 10-string Railboard a couple years ago at a show in LA after they had just been released. The additional weight compared to my wood 10-string was only noticeable when I was picking it up. Once the weight was distributed on my body, wearing it on my belt, it wasn't noticeable.

Chalk one up for Stick ergonomics. :D

I posted this to another thread and thought I’d post it here too since I figure more people will see it here:

Does anybody have a nickel plasma Railboard? I am thinking of getting a Nickel Grand Railboard. What does the Nickel plasma fretboard feel like? I have a blue 10-String Railboard and it has a very distinctive feel, but I’m guessing that the plasma Railboards feel rather different since the plasma coating is so different from the anodized aluminum (?).

Also, I’m thinking of getting the Nickel Grand Railboard with the (same color) recessed dots - are those reasonably visible as fret markers? I have the exposed aluminum on my blue Railboard and I like them but I want to do something different for the Grand.

Of course, now I also have the additional temptation of a future RG-12.....decisions, decisions!

Tony Rodriguez does. I believe he has the first one even. I'm not sure what his Stickist name is though but he's easy enough to get a hold of on Facebook.

Thanks, I’ll try to contact him, then.
