Lee Vatip - Sea Miner is a decent track, to be sure. This collaboration promises to be a completely different animal, and a ton of fun to do for all who participate. Kris, you are gonna be busy, friend! There is going to be a literal TON of stuff to play over - last year's collaboration had lots of folks doing their thing, it was really cool and I am super proud of it. Kris, I would love to hear some Stick stuff too...

I'd like to say that ANY parts will be useful, and will help create a different vibe... simple parts, complex ones, etc etc... Also, while the tonality is C Melodic (Real melodic/Jazz Minor) it doesn't mean that the whole thing has to be played over a dim ( Cmin6/Cminmaj7) Tonality.

Simply play the melody created from the note pool other than a "C" (D, Eb, F, G, A, B) and note the respective harmonization, and you will get some severe coolness...

Sounds so cool. I fear my stick skills are so terrible that I would just take away from the awesomeness since I can barely wrap my head around melodic minors (my last music theory class was in high school in 1992).

So I was confused why people (especially classical music) used melodic minor going up but used natural minor going down. Now it's melodic minor up or down, especially for jazz, but it used to be a thing,

Here's the why and the what of the 3 types of minor: natural, harmonic. and melodic. Nicely explained.

Would it make sense to not jump between too many time sigs so as to keep this thing flowing? This is your project Scott, I'll give you whatever you think is best. I was just wondering, if we called out the bpm and the key, then everyone could pitch in and editing it all together would be easier. Or maybe the idea is to have this be super eclectic? Just trying to save you editing headaches man =)

So yeah, I "bumpity-bump" this thread... Mostly because I want to see and hear what kind of sonic madness we can come up with using the Stick (Or whatever tappy type instrument you use!) I'd really like to see folks from the boards here unleash the fury and blow some minds, it's so cool to listen back to this track and hear all of the different styles and tastes come together in one shot...

Again, here's last year's! A lot of fun, I think it's pretty unique, and the best thing about it is that it's all guys from the boards here (All over the world) doing their thing, and it's quite something!

I have a question:

If I am crossing the midline with chords and melodies (LH on the RH side and vice versa), what is the best way to send you separate tracks?

By example, say I want and F with a #11 played with the LH as
string 3 fret 7
string 5 fret 6
string 7 fret 5

with the RH playing a melody on strings 9 and 10

and then a C power chord on strings 5,6, and 8 with melody on strings 7, 9 and 10

This is not a hypothetical question.
