Post LBJF and bass players
As producer of the Long Beach (NY) Jazz Festival, I always enjoy the creative process of presenting truly innovative musicians.
This is my 15th season.
This year's roster seems to be high on heavy hitter bassists. Planned and soon to be confirmed:
Jeff Berlin
Alex Blake
Bakithi Kumalo
Marc Egan
Michael Manring
,,,
Hope to see some of you there

All of those guys are incredible but in my opinion Michael Manring is on a different level. Everything I've seen of him, especially his solo work, is just so effortless and beautiful. I'm really excited for the audience this year.

Josh, you can easily be part of that audience.
Other Stickists have traveled further to attend.
Hope to see you

Are you in the Boston area? If so, I'm originally from there. Trip is probably 3-4 hours. I'm only about 50 miles away in NJ and with traffic the trip is a minimum of 90 minutes. On bad days it's taken me more than 2 hours. So 3-4 isn't too too bad. :) I've been to several LBJF's and what I can tell you is you won't regret going if you do make the trip.
