After more than 3 decades of exploration on my personal artistic journey, The Stick still inspires innovation and sonic creativity with every encounter
A certain pianists' music lead me to a few new fretboard discoveries today . Very exciting. I look forward to expanding these concepts and ideas.
So once again a huge thank you to Emmett Chapman for opening the musical door with his innovations and dedication. This acknowledgement is important. Can't be stated enough

Yay. Can't wait to see, and hear, what you've discovered. You know how I have wanted to play a little more piano-like for some situations. Can a fella get a sneak peek at our next "life coaching"/theory/Stick session?

Was the pianist Rowan Atkinson? His work during the London Olympics pre-game show was inspiring to say the least.

I guess he is more of a synth guy here, while someone else is playing the piano!

The pianist in question is Lennie Tristano

So mysterious! Let us know when you have something concrete. Unsurprisingly it is a jazz pianist. Besides Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Tori Amos and Jordan Rudess, almost all the revolutionary piano is.

Love Lennie. I love his darker modal shit. Really underappreciated in his generation of musicians.

C minor Complex. Turkish Manbo. Overdubs. Tape speed changes. All in 1949. So far ahead of his time. Plus great lines and swing. Yup

The Stick is really not complex at all.

I mean it in the psychoanalytical definition. "A group of emotional attitudes associated with a particular object, activity, etc. and remaining partly unconscious but strongly influencing the individual's behavior." Yeah.
