Hi all,

Just a few updates for the 2017 Interlochen Workshop.

A schedule has been posted and was recently updated with specifics on the courses being taught. You can see the schedule at:

http://www.121normal.com/resources/events/seminar2017/schedule.html

or by clicking the "Schedule" tab on the Interlochen site at:

http://college.interlochen.org/adult-classes/chapman-stick

Also instead of a formal student concert, we are going to have an "open mic" down the road at the Karlin Inn (still waiting for confirmation but likely). It's a more relaxed atmosphere and also a place where you can grab food and drink. The guitar workshops have done this the last few years and they've been very popular.

Lastly and as we are starting a day early, we're going to wrap up Saturday afternoon at around 4:30pm. For those of you who aren't in a hurry to get home, Greg and Bob will be performing in Traverse City proper Saturday evening at the Filling Station Microbrewery.

The Filling Station has become a very popular spot on nice summer evenings and provides music outdoors under the cover of an old train depot.

People have already started signing up so if you're thinking about it, consider getting your registration in before the April 1st earlybird deadline.

If you are holding off registering until closer to the April 1 earlybird deadline I would suggest booking your hotel now. It's a popular area and it can get booked solid.

Also, those nice little cabins I always favored are no more. They are being torn down for the expansion of some facilities.

Yeah - I second the recommendation to sign up early if you're interested. There were still several rooms at Stone Hotel when I signed up a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait!!

Where ya staying, Rob? I need to get signed up, and then hotels sorted out. I'm also checking with Scott/Jaysskerr and anyone else who wanted to hook up from Canada through Detroit on the way to Interlochen. I know I'm going, and taking one or more Sticks, but that's as far as I've figured out so far.

Apparently there are toll roads on the way. Anyone know how much tolls are? or anyway to find out? Just so I bring enough coins for the tolls? Ill be coming in via Sarnia , thru Flint I75 etc.

In Michigan? Never heard of that. Going around Lake Michigan through Chicago there are many, but Sarnia to TC you just have the BW Bridge.

No tolls except to cross the Bluewater Bridge.

Thanks, I registered a while back, just reserved a room tonight. There's less than a half dozen left for three nights.

I guess it's safe to say by now that I won't be able to go this year... :( I was really looking forward to be with you all plus, the chance to see Greg and Bob performing live... anyway, have fun guys, it's a wonderful chance to improve on everyone 's playing and make new, invaluable friends for life.
