I think tracking could be an issue with this pedal. In some parts of the video, especially with the sounds that have a shorter attack, the tracking seems to be a little shaky.

We need to be careful how we use the word tracking. Based on my understanding from comparisons between Roland guitar synths and VG models (I assume the "9" series pedals is more like the the VG due to its polyphony without a hex pickup.)

1. Synths that us a hex pickup have to hear a note, figure out what it is (frequency) and trigger a sound based on that note.

2. Non-hex pickup effects take the actual sound of the string, strip off the harmonics and use the fundamental as an oscillator and add to it.

So #1 is what we are used to as having tracking issues when the wrong frequency (note) is "heard" for some reason. #2 is more of a glitch where a harmonic or other sound is picked up (momentarily) as a fundamental. #2 is faster since it does no't have to calculate the frequency of the note.

That's as far as my understanding goes. Would love to hear more from those that know more.

I'd love to have all the "9" pedals from EHx! Too much fun!

EHx was the first pedals I purchased back in the late 70's!
Small Stone Phase Shifter, Big Muff PI, Soul Preacher, switch blade.
Too much fun but back in the day they were notorious for breaking down!

The only EHx pedal I have now days is for my "B rig" setup I have a Soul Preacher compressor that has a nice "snap" to it as opposed to my experience with Boss Compressors. I think this compares better to an MXR Dyna Comp.
