Post Re: NAMM Show and thanks
Steve gently prodded me towards the VG-99, I couldn't believe how he could get so many rich sounds from his stick. I bought one and have never regretted it. I have owned several Roland modules over the years (for my electronic drums) and they are pretty bullet proof. I won't hesitate to take mine out for a gig - if I ever get to that point  !
I highly recommend it. I'm not sure about the Roland GR-55, I am intrigued but have never used one and I'm not sure of the differences, but that might also be an option.

There are a lot of vastly superior modelling products available today, probably why the VG series is discontinued. I have a GR55, It doesn't do "gain" very well, and it is a bit light on "tone" and cool guitar FX features... I would take a VG over the GR55 any day.

I still believe the VG99 is the best effects device for the melody side of The Stick. All the patches add a lot of muscle to the sonic quality. I love when listeners to my recordings can't differentiate my playing from some of the guest guitarists. Also means the improvs are not Stick oriented and/or fingerlocked. I never leave home without my 99.....
Unless I'm just going to the store to get milk

Are you sure that's because of the VG99? 'cause I am willing to bet it's the player, not the box...
Just saying, you could probably plug into a Peavey Rage and blow the doors off of the place...

hehehe
