One of my caveats has always been "gourmet food it is not" :D

I won't make any pretenses. There are three cafeterias on campus that is exactly what they are. Cafeterias catering to predominantly students ages 8 to 18. With that said, it does the job. Some hot meals are most definitely better than others but there is always the deli counter to opt for which will do in a pinch.

The town of Interlochen is a very short distance away and has a small number of restaurants. Generally though ... everybody opts for the cafeteria. It makes for a good social atmosphere and if the weather is agreeable, it's not uncommon to find us all eating at picnic tables by the lake.

Eric and Glenn - thanks for the info. I'm not terribly picky in general and would definitely prefer to get more "hang" time with other Stickists.

Glenn - thanks for all the detailed info on your site. I'm hoping to do some visiting in MI after the workshop and the info you have is very helpful.

"I'll have the 'Blue Plate Special'." (wish I could go, I'd eat oatmeal...)

I’d appreciate it if previous attendees could provide any info/insight on lodging options. Where did you stay? How did you like it? Is the on-campus meal plan worth it?

Thanks

Hi Claire. In 2013, I stayed in one of the campus cabins. It was in a small cul-de-sac among some trees really close by. It seemed about one and a half times what a hotel room would cost, but it was quiet, COMFY, and as I said, close by. The meal plan was worth it for me. If you are a vegan or have some other restrictive diet, then I would have to say "DANGER, WILL ROBINSON"! I also brought some snacks for the cabin and ate dinner at some kind of restaurant within miles of the campus one night.

Also, in 2013, there were two female Stickists present. But that probably happens at all the seminars, right?

Mike

All signed-up. My first goal this year is to be ON-TIME for the Manitowoc ferry. :)
