Hi all,

It is with great pleasure that I announce registration is open for the 2017 Interlochen Chapman Stick Workshop. This year's event will be a four day event running from Wednesday to Saturday (July 12-15) and will feature instruction from Greg Howard and Bob Culbertson.

It's also a great place to meet, greet, and trade licks with lots of other Stick players that you may have e-chatted with but never met in person.

You can get more details on the web at both:
http://www.121normal.com/resources/events/seminar2017
http://college.interlochen.org/adult-classes/chapman-stick

Also note that we've put up a preliminary daily schedule on both pages. There maybe some minor detail changes along the way but what's there should be pretty close.

So come one come all. Can't wait to see some new faces this summer as well as my old friends.

Hey Glenn If wives come along do they have to pay for the Workshop. Would they be allowed to come to the concerts?

I'm assuming your wife just wants to watch so of course there is no charge. I should point out as well that there is tons to do around there so she might feel the pull to leave us behind and check out northwestern Michigan. I put several suggestions on one off the web pages.

Regarding the concerts. Anything on campus is going to be free. This year we're adding an additional concert for Greg and Bob in Traverse City proper. The details on that event are still being worked out so I can't speak to that.

I am planning on going... I will be vacationing south west of there @ a place called Big Star Lake. It is also south of Traverse City! Traverse City is a very cool place...

I just want to encourage anyone who lives in Am, to make the effort and just do it.

You don't have to travel half way across the world to get there, I'm just sulking really.
One day I'll make it, but another year goes by and I can say it won't be this one. Maybe 2018.

I’d appreciate it if previous attendees could provide any info/insight on lodging options. Where did you stay? How did you like it? Is the on-campus meal plan worth it?

Thanks

I suggest staying on campus. The main hotel is nice but I prefer the cabins. The meal plan is very worth it as we all eat there. I just buy tickets daily as I need them. I recommend calling and reserving a room or cabin soon, it's a popular place.
