So hey, is this gonna be like a "Cracking the Code" kind of thing, Josh? I am a big fan of what Troy Grady does...

Oh friend, you should look it up... Troy has pretty much completely set the standard for educational, yet entertaining guitar-shred-manship.

Troy started asking questions on all of the shred guitar forums, like 15-20 years ago. He had a theory about picking, and really thought that guitar instructional videos could be done a lot better.

I mean, we all love the Yngwie REH video right? But while being an excellent display of Yng's playing style, it and most videos like it didn't answer the big questions. Cracking the Code's goofy storyline really, really added a lot of entertainment value to something that is pretty dry (picking).

Troy's Cracking the Code and Masters in Mechanics stuff has severely raised the bar. Just with taking a look at picking alone, not to mention tearing apart picking styles of Malmsteen, Gilbert, Stern, Johnson, Morse, Batio, Cooley, Freidman, etc etc...

Ideas.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing/hearing what you do.

Yeah that's quite an incredible journey, and to be so focused on something that so many guitarists take for granted and to be able to expand on it and keep it interesting is quite a feat.

I don't have the budget for the animations this guy has but he's definitely got some stylistic things I can bring into my own series. Thanks for introducing me!

Troy is as broke as the rest of us; he has a team though. And he has been working for years to get it ready. Recognizing that there is something missing and addressing it, that's the key. He has his 'own thing' going, a recurring theme. I believe Flash is used for the animations...

While other guys are making video after video showcasing this lick, that riff he focuses on one thing; picking. All musical examples are there to support that.

Subscription starts at just $1 a month, and each tier has something unique and exciting for every level of player that I believe makes it well worth the admission price. I really hope you guys like it, I'm greatly looking forward to the opportunity to help take your Stick playing to the next level, as well as the opportunity to grow alongside you.

With that said, keep a look out around the forums on January 6th, and have a happy holiday and a fucking epic new year!

Cool stuff even for the financially handicapped!
